All About me
Michael Ferris was born, raised and educated in Buffalo, New York. Michael graduated from Amherst Central High school and is a senior at Buffalo State College studying Media Production. His interest includes photography and most recently videography and editing. Michael enjoys telling stories through his camera and has always been fascinated with film and storytelling. Some of his accomplishments include having some of his photos put on display at the Main Street Gallery where he had people purchase them during a school exhibition. He was also on the Dean’s list three times at SUNY Erie. Another proud moment of his was when he was asked to give a speech and read a poem in Spanish at an art gallery for the school’s spring art show. When he made the transition from SUNY Erie to Buffalo State, that’s when he decided to major in Media Production. He recently acquired a drone which he said allowed him the knowledge and creativity of working with a variety of cameras. Michael lives at home with his parents and brother John. Outside of his academic studies, Michael has volunteered at People, Inc. a non profit organization that provides services to disabled individuals. He was connected to the organization through his family, specifically his brother who has both Down Syndrome and Autism. His brother continues to inspire him and is the reason why he volunteered. Lastly, Michael also helped in the past at nursing homes with activities and advocated for abuse and neglect for senior citizens. For now, he’s focused on school and hopes to take his degree to LA or NYC where he can broaden his interests in editing.
